So when I grew up I began cultivating Muscadines as a hobby. Gradually, local people learned of my young emerging vineyard and asked to come pick some Muscadine grapes for themselves. They enjoyed roaming the vineyard picking their grapes. With the word spreading over the years of our delicious grapes more people from surrounding counties and even from neighboring states visited our beautiful rural setting to titillate their tastebuds with the explosing of ancient flavor unique to the Muscadine grape.
Today you too can "pick your own" From approximately September through October 30 every fall. We use the traditional honor system. Grab a bucket, pick to your heart's delight, weigh the Muscadines and put the money in the box. At our vineyard we also offer a variety of Ciders (our speciality), jellies and preserves. The Muscadine (purple) and scuppernong (bronze) are both available for you to pick.
So, come share with us that neatly kept vineyard I dreamed of as a child. Lockman Muscadine Vineyard "The Family Vineyard"
